In the fall of 2011, I created my first “Do You Dream in Color?” portrait series in NJ. When I moved to Keene NH, I was delighted to be in my first Keene Art Walk! I was placed at Salon Exodus with my Alice in Wonderland series.

One of the things I have noticed is that the business side of things was interfering with the creative side of things. Not that I claim to be the next Jackson Pollock, but working on the images from this concept shoot while the world goes on, has been very meditative. So I decided to do more creative work even if that costs me business. Plus, this enables me to spend more time with my little mini. At the end of the day, that ‘s the most important thing to me.

That all being said, this is the final result of the idea I had in my head to re-create an “Alice in Wonderland” theme in the woods. This is what I had envisioned and I am so pleased with the results. It was really important to me that it was my own. I resisted every temptation to re-visit the Tim Burton film for this reason. I wanted it a little wacky, a little grungy, and a little vintage. I was involved in every aspect of this concept, from sewing costumes, to making props and lugging stuff in the woods, to the photography and photo editing side of things.
