In these large portraits and digital photographic collages, I combine a love of portraiture, a growing fascination with botany, reverence for the feminine, the cyclical nature of the seasons, the concept of impermanence, surrealism, and dreaminess.  Increasingly fascinated by the Wheel of the Year and annual natural rhythms, I incorporate elements from nature into my photographic works. The temporary (and ephemeral) nature of things resonates deeply with me. For example, my costumes are usually assembled the day-of the shoot and models need to be flexible around changing weather conditions and optimal locations in terms of blooms. I enjoy working with fleeting elements in my images. In my digital photo collages, I layer photographs I have taken in nature over my portraits and dive deep in Photoshop working with layers, colors, textures and  to create a finished image.
